2026 is the new 2016?

This is news to me. In a latest attempt to take back control of our lives, millennials everywhere are posting carousels of their 2016 selves, declaring, “2026 is the new 2016!” Ironically, my feed hasn’t looked this good in years. A step back from the perfectly curated grids and from the photographer, social media strategist, and manager you pay monthly to keep things organized. A breath of fresh air, if you ask me.

Social media has been a divided place for so long now. A place where you can see murder and within one scroll be prompted to “click the link in bio” for something you don’t need. So here I am, just like in 2016, writing into a computer screen for an audience of 15k. Back then, I believed I had an audience of over 5,000, but I knew no difference.

I was posting what I was passionate about, whether it be fashion, adorably dubbed TellyLovesFashion, or my favorite red lip shade from Elizabeth Mott. I posted what was real and not what an algorithm wanted me to be. I think that is what social media is missing the most. Real people. Real passion.

Since when is your job your entire personality? I rebel against the thought. So for me, it was decided well before this trend that I would go back to my roots. Writing. A place where I could share an aspect of myself that did not require hair and makeup.

I told my therapist today that I was tired of all the work. The physical work, mental work, job, family, relationship, self love journey. I am "catastrophically tired". I want so desperately to be on the other side of things. It is like knowing you have a vacation booked but not having the patience to work until it arrives. Why can’t I just be at the destination already!?

She reminded me the entire time that this is human.

This trend reminds me of being tired. Wanting to go back in time when things were simpler and not as heavy. Things feel extremely heavy. Whether you’re scrolling or chasing those dopamine hits, we are collectively a tired society.

What is the answer?

Creativity. The kind you aren’t actively trying to monetize. Let’s be honest, if you can do what you love and make money too, go for it. But we need a creative outlet. As my therapist would put it, mindful moments. Moments where you are present with yourself and doing what feels restorative. Yeah… do that.

For me, writing feels amazing. Whether it’s for my blog, my poetry, or journaling for the day. I love writing and reading it back. It sucks because I’m grammatically challenged, ha, but I won’t let that define me.

For now, I’m choosing creativity over burnout.

I brag different...

I guess you can you can say that I titled my blog from my morning tunes. MajoryKey!! Today though we're going to talk "Styling brands and not letting brands style you." A lot of times you may look at a brand and see that they have certain looks put together and you may feel pressured to buy that exact look. Because what.. It's on trend?! But ask yourself? Is that the look that you really want to wear. Is it that you just like a piece from that ensemble or is it that you like the whole outfit. Nonetheless, when you wear brands it's important to make them originate with you. Here I have two of my favorite brands on and I wanted to take a conventional jumpsuit and give it a little bit of a edge because that's what I always imagine when I think about a jumpsuit!  A girls night out. Dancing and drinks. A lot of drinks. LOL. But what's really cool about jumpsuits is that they are very versatile. You can bring edge like myself. Or you can soften them up with a nice flat shoe, hair down and less accessories.
I hope you enjoyed today blog and the pics below!
Enjoy your Saturday loves! 4 days until fall is here. My favorite season of fashion!

#BodyPositive

Lets not waste any time here...
To be body positive does not mean that you don't care about your body's health. It means thee total opposite.
Body positivity comes from a place of love for your self. So with that love you know when your have put to much weight on your body. A lot, of bloggers will try to tell you different. But i'm here to share the true meaning.
The past 3 years I've add over 50 pounds to myself.
Even more than physical weight. I began to mentally be weighted down...

That's why in Jan. of this year I promised myself to shed more than pounds. Shed the hateful comments about my weight, shed the communities in blogging, shed the word plus size, shed other people standards, even my very own. I vowed to take better care of my health and show love to my body. That means drinking more water, and more balanced meals.

My IVY PARK pose LOL

Don't think this post isn't about self acceptance. It is. I think that's what #bodypositive is about. But are we really accepting a unhealthy lifestyle? I was. Its food for thought. No pun intended. Health doesn't automatically equal a smaller waist. Health isn't tied to a size. Now that i'm sure of...

 In conclusion,
Body positive means for me.... The love for one's self. It needs no validation or recommendations. You simply will do whats right for your body... Love it.

Spring Feels

Spring is here. And its my absolute favorite. Could it have to do with the fact that I was born in it? Yea. April 3rd to be exact. Although if you've been following my blog for some time you know by now I don't celebrate it. Here's the thing. Spring gives us that endurance that summer is just around the corner. That means sun and warmer days. That means a great deal for fashion!Take color for instant. We get to add more to the wardrobe. Pantone top 10 colors for the spring are..
Rose Quartz, Peach EchoSerenity, Snorkel Blue, Buttercup, Limpet Shell, Fiesta, Iced Coffee, lastly Green Flash .

And for me. Not only am I excited to wear those colors. But the the color I have on in this post! White denim. You must know this is a first time for me. But being inspired by my fellow bloggers. I decided to try. What do you think? This is a trend that really started to resurfaced last spring. But its also a classic.

Hope you enjoyed today's post and your like me and can't wait to dress spring feels. :)

Telly

Ello Loves!

We made it to Friday!
Truthfully, this one has been a rough one for me. There is a quote that often came to mind during the week
"I can't adult today."
Being an adult has been the greatest test of all time. Haha. An ongoing one.
Cause I'm only getting older! So this morning I thought of 5 ways we can enjoy our adulthood:

  1. "Work a job you love." No one likes the feeling like they are giving all their energy to something they don't love.
  2. "Indulge into your passions, your hobbies." For me (Photography, fashion, spiritual, etc.)
  3. "Have good people in your life." Honest and pure people. With the best intentions. Gone are the days where we hang out with people out of obligation.
  4. "Let the nostalgia flow." I don't care if it's a old video game, Barbie doll, food, etc. Give in to those moments and enjoy the memories. Buy the snack your grandmother use to always have in her house.
  5. "Be positive." This one is very important. No one has plans to grow up and be that mean old man/lady. But if we aren't careful we can! We have to allow room for good vibes only. Let the negativity go. And try to find the solution. Do not wallow in your sorrow.

Now that we got that clear. You know there is another key without saying because clearly we already know... DRESS FOR SUCCESS! Every Friday before work I dress up. Makeup, jewelry etc. Although, I'm feeling utterly miserable about going to work. I don't dress for those feelings. I dress for the mood I inspire to be in. And it always works people. Take this look for instance. Perfect for Friday. It says "I'm getting work done but I'm also partying after." Do not ignore the power of a great outfit. The dress is perfect for those causal Friday's at work. I guess the theme of this whole blog is... To take back your peace. Remain forever young!
