Happy Blog Anniversary: TellyLovesFashion

Today is the day!

Today I mark one year of blogging and I can't believe the road I've been on. I started blogging to share my fashion and to accept my new body. Which was more curvy.
In the beginning I would have months where I didn't want to blog at all. I felt like I could never be as popular as the big bloggers. I even sometimes felt like I didn't have anything to offer the community. Sometimes getting so caught up in what others were doing I lost my self. But not any longer! 6 months ago I promised myself to stay in my own lane. And just be myself.  Not even worrying for one second what is "trending".
I never was like that. Although, I like trends now. I think they are fun and they keep fashion fresh.  So now, I'm doing me and having a ball doing it. Also, from blogging I've met some incredibly amazing people! My blogger big sisters are Lauren and Thamarr. I thank blogging for their friendship. They are truly my hype men on some of my lowest days. I adore them!

While it's only been a year. I know there are many more to come. And I can't wait for the road ahead. I appreciate everyone that reads my blog and follows me on Instagram liking my pictures. Commenting on my looks. Featuring me. I am truly grateful.

Last but not least blogging has helped me accept who I am. The funky fashionista with the curves. With the freckles and big hair. Turns out people like her.
Guess what? I love her.
So in conclusion... Telly just doesn't love fashion... She loves herself.
I can't wait to share more of me in the years to come.

The Interviewer: Part 2

So did she get the job?

.....

Hello Fashion BABES!

Lets chat..
It was time for my second interview. Unable to contain my hair I decided to throw it in a studious pony. Hair is a big part of my outfit. You can have a banging outfit but if her hair is not did her don't look cute. Haha. Who agrees? It was so bright that day. Beaming of beautiful sunlight. " Its so cooooold in the D." So days like this mimic a sunny summers day. Made me think of color.  This patterned magenta skirt had to be the one. So friendly looking. So fun. I have so many options to choose from when collaborating with this piece. And I knew I could throw black with it. This outfit was simple but it did the job....or shall I say....GOT THE JOB! That's right yours truly will be working at her favorite thrift store. So far the only thing is to resist the urge to shop on the clock! Haha.

My Top Thrifter of 2014: Personal Bravery

Good Afternoon Fashion Loves!

Today I am featuring " My Top Thrifter of 2014". Drum roll please?!
Its Princess (Fox) Wilcoxson! In the blogging world we know her as Personal Bravery.
Right at the start of my blogging journey I stumbled across her page and I fell in love immediately.
True to her name her looks are very brave and adventurous. I never grow bored with her look. Her style is so original. That brings me to my next point... SHE THRIFTS! And goodness is she good at it. She can make an outfit she paid very less for look like she spent hundreds. Did I mention her hair cut? Its oh so fab! So all these things should go to show why she had to be "My Top Thrifter of 2014". I caught up with the lady of the hour and asked her a couple of questions. Lets take a look at that interview:

Telly: What made you decide to start blogging?

Princess: I have had a love for fashion for as long as I can remember. In 2010, I got the opportunity to live in Australia and this is when I discovered the world of fashion blogging. "Saks in the City" was the first fashion blog that I ever read. I never knew this world existed! From then on I knew I had to create my own blog to express my personal style.

Telly: Describe your style in 1 word. (She couldn't lol)

Princess: Always evolving! That's really two words but hey...

Telly: What about thrifting do you enjoy the most?

Princess: It's something about the thrill of finding those hidden treasures that most times you weren't even expecting to find! I love how someone else's trash becomes another man's treasure! It's so much fun and it allows me to be creative and put my twist on different items.

Telly: For some contemplating blogging, what is your best advice for them?

Princess:  Always be yourself! Don't change yourself for anybody. Being a blogger, it can be really easy to get frustrated about your growth or how you may fit in, but trust the process. It's something amazing about being organic. Always know that you have something to give!

Telly: Last but not least.Your style inspiration, who inspires princess?

Princess: Who inspires my style? There are so many I could name! You, I love how you wear what you want. Your style is eclectic. It's such a beauty in that. I really like Karla Deras from "Karla's Closet" Her blog was one of the first blogs I fell in love with. Her shoe collection is amazing! I also really like Solange's style. She pretty much slays every day. I mean ma'am you slay at breakfast. Ugh! I also really like Joi from "In My Joi" She's so organic with her style! She truly wears what she wants. You never know what to expect with her. One day it could be a pencil skirt and cropped top, the next day it could be jeans and sneakers or a ball gown. I absolutely love it!!

I was honored to be apart of this beauty's inspiration. There's no doubt in my mind this lovely lady will be doing some big things come 2015. Are you ready for it?

Special Thanks to Princess "Personal Bravery" for taking the time out for this feature.

Comfy Sunday

Today I aimed for that comfortable look while still possessing style. When it comes to a sweater you can totally achieve that look. All you'll need is a sweater and a statement piece. In this post my statement is my maxi skirt. The skirt was originally a dress I no longer cared for the shape of. Although I was very much in love with the skirt of the dress. Snip snip. That is a big part of my thrifting . If I love some parts of a piece and not others. I'll just cut them off when I get home. Otherwise, I would  be missing out on a awesome skirt! This skirt is my go to skirt. I've paired this thing with many tops. T-Shirts, Blouse, leather jackets, vest etc. The list goes on! And in this case today when my other skirt fell through, my infamous maxi skirt was waiting for me. This sweater cost me $4.65. It's by Outlander. Black lamb's wool. Soooo comfortable. I wore my black cowboy booties and grabbed my shades. And I was on my way. Look look below:

Leather skirt strikes again

Hello Saturday!

First I must say it is taking me some time to adjust to the weather change. I've lived in Michigan all my life but for some reason I will never be one with the weather. I love the fall & spring. Not too hot, not too cold. But the winter here is fierce! But no match for my leather pencil skirt.I had no idea that when purchasing  this beauty a couple of weeks ago that I would be so madly in love with it.The good thing about a leather skirt is you can wear it several ways. Sweater, t-shirt, blouse, jacket, etc. the list can go on. In my case, I decided to wear it with this paisley blue jean shirt I scored some time ago thrifting. I couldn't have paid more than 2 bucks for it. For me fashion doesn't have to be this expensive ordeal. It just has to be you. :)

My shoes tho!!
